OnlineMCATprep.com offers tests for Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences with a question and topic ratio similar to AAMC MCAT®.  Tests are available instantly on your computer and can be repeated several times to reinforce the material needed to master the MCAT®.

What is the content of your online MCAT tests?

Full length online practice tests consist of 52 questions with 7 passages and discrete questions.  Half-length practice tests have 26 questions with both, passage-based and discrete questions, with same subject ratio as full length tests.  You receive a personalized Diagnostics Report with a Scaled Score (1 to 15) based on your actual test performance for both full length and half-length tests.

OnlineMCATprep.com copyrighted questions cover frequently tested topics and are calculated for the same ratio of topics tested on the official MCAT®.  The technological interface of the tests on our web site use controls and options similar to the actual MCAT®.

 

Will I receive a scaled score with these practice tests?

With each of our tests you receive a personalized Diagnostics Report based on your actual performance on the test.  Additionally, you receive a Scaled Score between 1 and 15 of your performance using the generalized MCAT formula.  The Diagnostics Report is a detailed summary itemized by subject and difficulty of each question.  This Diagnostics Report is very valuable for you to review and identify your strenghts and weaknesses which is important to optimize your MCAT preparation.

 

What is the difference between Practice mode and Test mode?

To maximize your learning, you can choose to complete our tests in either Test mode or Practice mode.  Test mode is similar to the AAMC MCAT® exam with the same time limitations.  Practice mode is a learning format without time limitations which allows viewing correct answers and reading detailed explanations during the test.  Both modes allow you to test your knowledge of the material, become acquainted to the CBT MCAT format and learn important scientific concepts by reading detailed explanation for each question.

How do I register to sit for the AAMC MCAT®?

Computer based AAMC MCAT® is administered many times a year (28 times in 2009) in locations across the country by Prometric testing centers.  The Prometric testing centers should be within a maximum travel distance of 100 miles.  The deadline for registration is about two weeks before the exam date.  You can sit for the test more than once, but not more than 3 times during the year and test-taker cannot be registered for more than one exam at any given time.  Taking the MCAT® costs $210 and registration can be completed online at the AAMC web site.  Students are allowed to sit for the exam only 3 times during one year.  Students need enough time to sit for the MCAT® before applying to medical school.
